What Causes Bio-Mat Clogging in the Soil?

The bacteria that live in your existing septic tank do a very poor job of digesting solids in the tank; these same bacteria cause all the problems of bio-mat clogging in your drain field. As the liquid drains out of your drain field into the soil the bacteria start to secret a mucal slime; over time this builds up to form “bio-mat”; a black and gooey, almost “oil like” substance in your soil.
